Blues Against Hunger Society works in collaboration with a variety of corporate and civic organization partners whose support and hard working boots on the ground is essential to our mission of ending hunger in our communities. These bridges of collaboration and support from private, public and social sectors are vital to furthering our mission and ensuring our reach to our communities most vulnerable residents.
Below is a partial listing of international, national and regional partners who help ensure BAHS continues to give hunger the blues.
OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS
HEARTS OF BAJA: Serving Tijuana, Rosarito, and Ensenada.
In 2014, retirees Marilyn and Les Widd, started visiting local children's orphanages in their new community of Rosarito, Mexico. The original goal was to simply help feed and clothe the children being housed in these under-funded facilities. Soon though, the three orphanages they were helping to support, turned into eight and then twelve. As more homes came forward seeking assistance, the need to create a Networking Organization became apparent.
In 2015, Hearts of Baja was formed to combine efforts and help support the Children of Baja Norte. Hearts Of Baja Children's Network a 501(c)(3) non profit EIN 30-0991203
ASIFAC - Serving San Felipe, Baja California.
ASIFAC - The Community Center firstname.lastname@example.org or m.me/acifacsf.
VOLUNTEERS WITHOUT LIMITS - formed in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico by bringing two existing San Felipe organizations together to provide more services for more people in the community. They were each providing food to about 25 families in the San Felipe community.
San Felipe Food Bank was started in 2008 by two Americans, Mark LaPointe, and Monty Robbins. They met and realized that if they combined their efforts they could reach out to the American and Canadian communities here for donations and provide more food. The food bank quickly grew to about 100 families. Families would receive bags of the staples consisting of rice, beans, and flour every two weeks, and sometimes oil and sugar when available.
BETTER TOGETHER - Mission Statement and Vision for Better Together In Christ of San Felipe, BC, Mexico. Many people live in poverty all around the world and San Felipe, BC, Mexico, is no exception.
In 2006, a small group of North Americans from the US, Canada and Mexico, residing in the San Felipe area, felt that God was leading them to reach out to others. During a study developed by Rick Warren, entitled “Forty Days of Community,” the group sensed that God was challenging them to serve those less fortunate. This group formed what is now known as “Better Together in Christ”.
The Blues Against Hunger Society is a non-profit organization.
